Treasures

"The goal is to be sure that your own heart is rich so that when you teach your children you can give to them out of your own treasure." - Sally Clarkson
I have just been soaking up all kinds of Sally Clarkson wisdom lately!  God has definitely been shaping me as a mom.  There are days that I wake up, intimidated by all that it means to raise these kids well, to be intentional with my time in these short years and to make sure I'm being filled up in my time with the Lord so I can shepherd them out of that overflow.  What a great task!  I am thankful for both the joy-filled and the challenging times that are drawing me nearer and nearer to my God.  I am blessed to stay home and create a haven for my children, bursting with life.
If you're a mom and are looking for some wisdom and encouragement yourself....look no further.  Sally is your lady!  Here are a list of some of her books - http://www.amazon.com/Sally-Clarkson/e/B001IQXICC.

And what would a post be without photos of my beauties?

Circus

Last Saturday, Lily and I met up with a friend of mine and her daughter to go to the circus at Wells Fargo Arena.

Sign Language: Thank You

Silas just signed "thank you" yesterday all on his own!
I hadn't practiced it with him for quite some time so I was surprised by our little dude. :)

Horsey Game

Lily has this new game she likes to play called "the horsey game".  She pulls Silas around the kitchen/dining room and he gets to practice taking steps.  Fun for everyone!

Beautiful Fall Evening

Most evenings have been too chilly for this girl.  But a week or two ago (notice how my memory has begun to slip?!), we took a nice long walk and then played outside, enjoying the transition from summer to autumn.

Eating Like a Big Boy!

Within the last couple of weeks, Silas has started to take an interest in finger foods.  We've only introduced a few things but so far he seems like to it all!

Twinkle Toes

Tonight was Lily's first dance class.  This is just a basic level one through the city but I figured we'll have plenty of time to pursue it more if she ends up being into it! :)  Lily did great.  She is quite shy (much like I was as a child) so I wasn't sure if we'd get there and she'd be too nervous to join in.  Not at all!  She said her favorite part was when they skipped.
