Homecoming

Just a little behind on this post!.... Lily and I headed down to Seymour on Thursday the 16th to go to my brother's Homecoming Boom Night.  He was on the Homecoming court so I thought we should be there just in case.....He got Homecoming King!!  Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me to take pictures of the stud but it was very fun to be there for his moment.

On Friday afternoon, we went up to the school to meet my mom and walk with her and her Kindergarten class to where they watch the parade.  Lily had a great time watching all of the kids and seeing the parade pass by.

That's my bro! :)

Then, right before the game, Justin made it down and we all went to cheer on the Warriors.  We had been hearing so many good things about the boys' new coach this year, how he's really helped to transform them into a great team so we were super excited to see them play!  They came out with a victory, winning 47-18!

Grandma's getting into the game and Lily's not sure what to think!  This picture makes me laugh. :)

6 Month Checkup

On Tuesday September 14th, Lily went in for her 6 month check up.  She is a healthy and happy baby and Dr. A says she is very advanced for her age (which we already knew - she's been keeping us on our toes since she got here! :)).  She actually had a milestone right there in the room....as we were waiting in between the nurse and doctor, Lily crawled across the exam table!  She has had the army crawl mastered for awhile now but had not yet accomplished a real full-on crawl.  Needless to say, we were thrilled to both be present for such a wonderful moment!
  • Height - 25 1/2" = 50th percentile
  • Weight - 15 lbs 12 oz = 50th percentile
  • Head Circumference - 16 3/4" = 50th percentile
Lily has been steady in the 50th percentile at nearly all of her visits since birth.  Consistency is good and we are blessed to have such an energetic little girl.

Does this diaper make my butt look big?

Happy 6 Month Birthday Lily Maren!

It's so hard to believe that Lily's first year of life is already halfway over!  Every new stage that she goes through is my new favorite.  Everyone comments on how wide-eyed and alert she is.  That's our girl - always wanting to check everything out and take it all in!  We're pretty sure she's going to be the adventurous type!  Lily has brought so much joy to our lives in the very short time that she's been here and sometimes I still have to step back in awe that God would allow us to be parents to such a wonderful little girl.  She's growing and changing right before our eyes and I don't want to miss a moment!  Speaking of growing and changing - here's what Lily is doing these days.....

  • Sleeps 11 hours a night
  • 3 naps a day (after her morning feeding, she goes right back to sleep for another couple of hours.  LOVE that!)
  • Army crawling around
  • Sits up unassisted for short periods of time
  • Likes to chew on just about anything because she.....
  • GOT HER FIRST TOOTH!!  You can see a teeny tiny little white tooth poking through her bottom gums.  If we hadn't felt the sharp little sucker, we wouldn't have known because she had no fussiness or fever from it.  Yippee!
  • Smiles when Daddy walks in the room
  • Has a blast watching/playing with Jax
  • Is cuddly at bedtime and in the morning (I love to hold her and rock with her during those times!)
  • Likes to stand with help

Happy Half Birthday Lily!  We love you so much and are having a ton of fun being your parents and making lots of memories with you!
