We celebrated by watching fireworks on the 3rd (just me and Lily), going to the Urbandale parade and doing sparklers.

Zoo Time

I felt just ambitious enough on Tuesday to go to the zoo with both kids for the first time ever.  The Lord was merciful and the morning was fabulous.  Both of my kiddos did so well!  I rarely ever carry cash on me so Lily was disappointed when I had to break it to her that we wouldn't be able to ride the carousel.  A mom standing nearby offered to take Lily on a ride along with her little boy while I stayed with Silas and her 6 week old.  It worked out perfect.  God provides in even the smallest of situations! :)

We Love Parks!

There are some great parks here in Ankeny.  One of our favorites is Dean Park, which includes a splash pad.  The other night Lily decided she'd have some fun in the water, fully clothed.  I love to watch her run wild and free, just enjoying her childhood.

The Wykle Resort

Last week we headed over to our friends' place in Huxley.  They have a big pool and it was Lily's first time swimming in water that was deep enough she needed arm floaties.  True to her ways, she was ready to be done about 10 minutes after we got in but it was fun while it lasted! The Wykles are due to welcome their 4th child into the world next week and we can't wait to celebrate with them!
