Desperate Measures

Yesterday was a day of pitiful naps for Mr. Silas.  So, late in the afternoon, I decided what the heck we'll try the carseat since he's been sleeping well in it when we go places.  I carefully laid him down in it but he ended up all cockeyed and half sticking out but since he stayed asleep I wasn't about to move him and chance the stinker waking up.  So here's how he looked for the 30 minutes I got out of him......

The things you do to get some peace and quiet can sometimes look silly.  But hey, it was 30 minutes soaking up Scripture that I otherwise wouldn't have gotten.  Worth it!

Songwriter

Lately Lily has been making up songs just about every day.  One of my favorites so far was when we were on the way to the chiropractor.  These were the lyrics I heard from the backseat:
"I know Jesus and he lives in my heart.  And I'll go to heaven and meet him at heaven.  But til then he lives in my heart."
I asked her to sing it again when we got home so I could record it.  Here's a similar rendition:

Silas @ 4 Months

What Silas is doing now:

• Sleeps 8 hours at night
• 6 feedings and 4 naps a day
• Still dealing with the pesky 45 minute intruder for naps
• Rolls from back to tummy
• Smiles up a storm (we barely have to try to get him to!)
• Babbles
• Can grasp objects
• Recognizes himself in the mirror and thinks it's quite amusing
• Can sit in the Bumbo
• Will follow Lily and Jax around the room with his eyes
• Has started having signs of teething but no tooth yet
• Saves the best giggles for Daddy
• Sleeps in his carseat like a champ when we're on the go
