Ashby Park

I heard about Ashby Park in Des Moines recently and knew we needed to check it out.  So we've gone there twice in the last week and we were even out of town for 3 days!  It's FREE and has a wading pool, splash pad and 2 playgrounds.  Oh yeah, did I mention it's FREE?!  I like that Ankeny's splash park is free from 10-noon but then we have to cut into Lily's morning nap if we want to go.  It's nice to have another place we can go anytime during the day if we want to cool off on a hot day....well, besides our backyard. :)  Des Moines Parks & Rec must provide some water toys too because there were beach balls that were marked with DMPR as well as various other water toys that Lily had fun picking up and playing with.  It's a great place if you have kiddos who like the water!
