National Balloon Classic

Once we finally arrived at the Balloon Classic in Indianola, we had a good time.  We did learn some lessons from our first time going though.  1) Next year, we'll leave about an hour in advance of when we'd normally think to leave.  The traffic getting in was awful.  2) One of Justin and I's weaknesses in our marriage is not treating each other nicely while stuck in traffic.  We easily get irritated by each other in this situation.  I insist that he should go in the lane that's actually MOVING and then merge over into the other lane further up to the front. He insists that he doesn't want to be "that guy".  Hmph. So, we're going to try to work on that one and be intentional with our love and patience when the ugliness wants to come out instead! :)  3) I personally learned that I do not like funnel cakes anymore.  I loved them as a kid so I decided to get one last night since it has been forever that I'd gotten to enjoy one.  Well, I didn't enjoy it.  Way too much fried foodness going on in those things for me now!  So, if you've stayed with me this long then you'll be happy to hear that aside from all that, it was a neat event to go to.  Lily "oohed" and "aaahed" over the hot air balloons pretty much the whole time.  I went on a ride in one when I was younger and I'd love to be able to share that experience with her someday!

This shows out how hot Lily was.  As you can see from her hair, she was drenched in sweat.  Good thing we found a spot beside a tent that provided a little shade from the sun!
